Located at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa on the island of Oʻahu, CRDG (Curriculum Research & Development Group) Summer Programs is an internationally recognized program with courses designed for curious young minds.

We have a variety of program options: five-week core programs, one-week Summer Adventure programs, and after-school programs for students entering grades 1–12. Within the five-week core programs, students can choose from STEM, robotics, art, drama, and athletic classes with field trips to science labs on the university campus and natural sites around Oʻahu.

We are devoted to providing high-quality programs and experienced instructors in a safe learning environment for our keiki. This year, we continue to offer our most popular courses (robotics, STEM, and Hawai’i Nature Study), and we proudly introduce three new classes:

  • Cultural Connections: East Asian Music, Media, and Munchies, Grades 4–8
Students will learn about life in East Asian countries through its languages and traditional and popular media, music, and food.
  • Cultural Connections: How to Make an Apple Pie and Wow the World, Grades 1–2
Using the famous children’s picture book, How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World as a starting point, students will dive into related reading, math, science, art, and geography topics. With hands-on activities, students will experience a fun way to learn.
  • Summer Games: Let’s Play Sports, Grades 1–3
This class fosters a healthy learning environment for young athletes. Students will learn the fundamentals of different sports like soccer, basketball, flag games, scooter games, and tennis and improve their coordination and develop their confidence.

SP_SocialHead_2019In the one-week, Summer Adventure programs, students experience a structured learning experience around a weekly theme.

Each week includes opportunities to stay physically active, get creative with art and cooking, work on STEM challenges, and participate in exciting field trips. Students from all around the world get together to explore the summer fun.
