The Biz Academy of Musical Theatre is a company committed to developing and empowering young actors, singers, and dancers.

To achieve this, The Biz offers a variety of options for all students interested in musical theatre. From classes to private lessons, stage productions to summer camps, there is something for anyone wanting to learn more about the world of theatre.

Girls having fun at The BizEvery year The Biz offers three summer camps for different age groups and ability levels.  Students spend the full day in camp, participating in activities that revolve around the three disciplines of musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting.

For the two week-long camps, students also learn about sets, costumes, and props, the behind-the-scenes work that helps make a show shine. At the end of each camp, all students participate in a final performance.

Stars-To-Be Camp

Stars-To-Be Camp is for beginning performers ages 6-12. Camp meets every day for one week from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. The final performance, which is a musical revue type show, is held Friday at 4:00 pm.

The Biz 2This camp takes you through the three disciplines of musical theatre: singing, dancing, and acting. Campers rotate daily between these three classes, as well as learn about the audition process, basic stage vocabulary, and several “wake-up” aerobics routines. All campers receive a folder to hold their music and scripts, and a camp t-shirt.

Broadway Bound Rising Stars & Encores Camps

Broadway Bound Rising Stars Camp is for performers ages 7-12, and Broadway Bound Encores Camp is for performers ages 11 and up. These camps are intended for kids who have some performing experience.

The Biz 3Both camps meet every day for two weeks from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. The final performance, which is a full musical, is held on the last Friday evening after a dinner break. These camps continue to build on the skills of singing, dancing, and acting as campers rehearse the selected musical, as well as involving campers in creating sets, costumes, and props for the show.

All campers are cast members, but auditions are held within the camp to cast the characters in the show.  Everyone receives a libretto (the music and script), a rehearsal CD, and a camp show t-shirt.
