Since its founding in 2001, hundreds of students ages 8-18 have trained with the Young Actors’ Theatre Camp to become not only better performers and artists but better people. Our curriculum is tailored to each student’s level of experience and interest; meaning that each student has the opportunity to create a one of a kind experience. In a safe and supportive environment, students are encouraged to try new aspects of the performing arts and take risks, knowing that a strong community of their peers are cheering them on.
We firmly believe that the best education comes from those professionals currently working in the industry. With Casting Directors of hit shows like, “This Is Us”, “Dear Victor”, “Rick and Morty”, and more, teaching how to cold read scenes and audition like a pro, so your student’s next audition will be a breeze.
Masterclasses bring in the top performers from Broadway, TV, and film to teach the upcoming generations of professionals to be passionate about their craft. Broadway’s Laura Bell Bundy from “Legally Blonde: The Musical” and “Hairspray” has coached our students every summer since 2012 on connecting to their songs and give advice on how she originated two roles in smash hit shows.
Now offering virtual courses and weekly Masterclasses, we have expanded our community even further internationally. Students from all over the US and beyond are able to train with the best teachers whether for personal or professional growth.
Rather than putting on a production of say Sound of Music, where one kid gets to play Maria and the 59 other students play Nazis or nuns, we teach all aspects of the performing arts that can then be put into practice for the next school or community theatre production. Our classes also cover the essential behind the scenes areas like writing, directing, stage management, production design, costume design, special effects makeup, producing, cinematography, and more.
