With its heart and core in Israel, Camp Kimama combines the traditional American summer camp experience with the beautiful Israeli culture.
For the past 15 years, Kimama has brought together Jewish youth from the United States and around the world to Israel for a one-of-a-kind summer experience that combines the typical activities of an American overnight camp with the beautiful culture and traditions of Israel.
Kimama provides Jewish children with a unique and special time to connect with kids from over 40 countries that they would otherwise never meet. Through these new connections and friendships, we have created a global community of Jewish youth.
Together with our highly-experienced staff, we’ve built a powerful and life-changing program that kids can’t find anywhere else.
This summer, we’re taking our expertise and unique Israeli-American summer camp back to America with the launch of Kimama New York!
Kimama New York
Just an hour and a half north of Manhattan, on a 62-acre campsite in the heart of a green forest, Kimama New York looks just like the camps from the movies. Throughout their camp session, campers can take advantage of a ropes course, zip lining, rafting on the Delaware River, music recording studio, dance studio, art spaces, large sports grounds, camping spaces, an organic garden space, and cooking workshop.
In addition to the traditional sports, arts, and adventure programming found at most summer camps, Kimama New York offers uniquely Israeli summer camp experiences like Kabbalat Shabbat and Maccabiah Games.
To strengthen the connection between our American campers and Israel, Kimama brings a large group of Israeli campers and staff to participate in camp. All activities at Kimama New York take place in Hebrew and English, creating an educational and content-rich program that impacts the lives of our campers long after the summer ends.
Our highly-qualified staff, made up of veteran Kimama counselors, have all been part of the Jewish Agency and attended American summer camps. Each counselor takes part in various professional development courses and a lengthy training process before camp begins.
Kimama New York offers two distinct camp programs: a Junior Camp for kids ages 7-14 and a Teen Camp for ages 14-17. Junior Camp is a 10-day experience with an optional 2-day trip to New York City. Teen Camp is a 2-week experience with optional trips to Washington, D.C., New York and Niagara Falls extending the program to 3-weeks. With these trips, American campers will accompany our Israeli campers, getting to see and appreciate these important landmarks through the perspective of their new Israeli friends.
