CALLANWOLDE CREATIVE CAMPS (Ages 6-12)

Callanwolde Creative Camp is the perfect place for young artists. From painting to pottery, yoga to weaving, campers experience everything Callanwolde has to offer.

Each of the one-week camps has a fun new theme and an enriching mix of art disciplines! Campers are placed into 4 pods of 6 campers based on age.

Student-Teacher Ratio: 6: 1

Fee: $345 (includes Supply Kit)

Hours: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Drop off 8:30-9 AM / Pick up 3:30-4 PM)

CCMP 01 (June 7-11) – By The Seaside: Artwork will be inspired by the ocean, ocean wildlife, and more!

CCMP 02 (June 14-18) – Mock a Masterpiece: Artwork will be inspired by masterpieces by great artists such as Van Gogh, Picasso, Klimt, and more! CCMP 03 (June 21-25) – Space Odyssey: Artwork will be inspired by space, the planets, aliens, and more!

CCMP 04 (June 28-July 2) – Wacky, Wild, and Wonderful: Artwork will be inspired by abstract art and innovative processes!

CCMP 05 (July 5-9) – Fairy Tales: Artwork will be inspired by castles, dragons, and more!

CCMP 06 (July 12-16) – Welcome to the Jungle: Artwork will be inspired by jungle animals, plants, and more!

CCMP 07 (July 19-23) – Making Faces: Artwork will be inspired by portrait making!

CCMP 08 (July 26-30) – Under the Garden Gates: Artwork will be inspired by plants, animals, and insects found in the garden!

CCMP 09 (August 2-6) – Around the World: Artwork will be inspired by artists around the world!

CALLANWOLDE CREATIVE CAMPS (Ages 6-12)

Daily Schedule:

8:30-9:00 AM: Drop Off

9:00-10:00 AM: 1st Activity

10:00-10:15 AM: Snack Break

10:15-11:15 AM: 2nd Activity

11:15-1:00 PM: Lunch and Recess

Activities: Painting & Drawing: Campers will use pencils, markers, pastels, and acrylic paint to create their masterpieces. Mixed Media: Campers will explore printmaking, collage, textiles, and more. Clay: Campers will use air-dry clay and paint to create pottery and sculptures. Movement: Campers will have structured movement time to play, dance, and move.

Supplies: Each student will receive their own supply kit of markers, colored pencils, oil pastels, watercolors, glue, pencils, and more!

DANCE CAMPS AND INTENSIVES

FOUNDATIONS BALLET AND MODERN 2-4 DANCE CAMP For Callanwolde School of Dance students in Foundations level classes 2-4. Add to your Ballet and Modern skills while exploring contemporary technique, improvisation, and visual art! Morning barre, daily art, and the last day showing at 11:30 AM. PRO-PRIME MOVER DANCE INTENSIVE (OPEN TO THE PUBLIC) Open to the public. Students must email Callanwolde School of Dance Director Jerylann Warner at jwarner@ callanwolde.org before registering. Intensive lead by company directors Jerylann Warner, Corian Ellisor, and Jillian Mitchell with guest artist Daniel Lopez. Daniel Lopez’s style is best described as a smooth blend of a cutting-edge industry vibe layered with contemporary virtuosity. Daniel originated a role in Youtube’s “Step Up: High Water” and has danced in episodes of Star, Empire, and Dynasty.  COVID-19 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

CALLANWOLDE CREATIVE CAMP AND TEEN SUMMER STUDIOS

1. Students will be placed in a pod of 4-6 based on age that they will remain with the entire week.

2. Students will remain in one classroom for the entire week. Instructors will rotate to each classroom.

3. Students will be seated 6 ft. apart.

4. Each student will get their own supply kit (included in tuition). Any shared supplies will be distributed by the instructor only and sanitized daily.

5. Lunch and recess will be outdoors when possible. Students will be distanced while they eat and must put their masks back on to play for recess. In inclement weather, students will have lunch distanced in their classroom. During indoor lunches, there will be no talking allowed until all masks are back on.

6. Each classroom will have a sanitizing station stocked with hand sanitizer, Lysol spray, sanitizing wipes, and additional masks for students that need them.

7. Students should not attend camp if they have any COVID-19 symptoms.

8. If the student or family member has been exposed to a positive covid case during the week of camp, you must inform Brooke Adams at badams@callanwolde.org. The student cannot return to Callanwolde until after 10 days of quarantine or after receiving negative results from a covid test taken 3-5 days from exposure. All other pod members will be notified if there is a risk of exposure.

DANCE CAMPS + INTENSIVES

1. All Callanwolde dance studios are located outdoors with the exception of one studio in which one wall opens to the outside.

2. Students will be required to wear masks other than to take a sip of water. Mask breaks are allowed outside of the classroom and distanced from other students.

3. Students will be required to sanitize their hands when they enter and leave the studio.

4. Squares will be drawn out on the dance floor for each student to dance within to keep physical distancing from others. Squares are 7’x7’.

5. If the student or family member has been exposed to a positive covid case during the week of camp, you must inform Georgia Adcock at gadcock@callanwolde.org. The student cannot return to Callanwolde until after 10 days of quarantine or after receiving negative results from a covid test taken 3-5 days from exposure.

PAINTING AND DRAWING

This intensive is for the artist looking to expand their current skill set. Instructors will vary each week and offer a new curriculum each week spreading across architecture, still life, figure drawing, and more all while using mediums including but not limited to watercolors, acrylics, charcoal, graphite, pastel, and more. An excellent opportunity for artistic teens looking to start or grow a portfolio! All supplies included. Maximum 6.

TEEN DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

In this intensive, students examine the essential tools, materials, and techniques for the fundamentals of digital photography, including cameras, lenses, exposure, resolution, storage, memory, and presentation. They learn to apply basic principles of photographic composition to assess the positive and negative attributes of photographs and then learn to apply those principles to produce their own visually compelling images. Adobe Lightroom Classic CC is a program that approximates the darkroom experience. Students will need their own DSLR (Digital SLR) camera and laptop. All other supplies included.
